Saturday, January 22, 2005 relishing>> Sting - Windmills of Your Mind 6 hours and 14 minutes. Precisely the time I'm left with before I enter the god-forsaken green netherworld known to all as National Service. As seconds tick by I am finding it increasingly difficult to dodge dreadful thoughts about monotonous military life and the colossal 'change' it's supposed to bring me. What 'change'? Going to the army is painful. It involves relinquishing your lifestyle, your freedom and quite possibly your soul to the Singaporean government. The long, curly locks that were part of me for such a long time are now all but gone. And the nakedness on the top of my head is unbearable. I feel like there is zero time left for a seemingly endless list of tasks to complete. I also feel like I have arrived at the end of a phase. A mind-blowing, psychotropic reverie for about 3 years and I'm just only awakening from it. rayve said @ 3:24 AM |
