Thursday, March 18, 2004 relishing>> Elliott Smith - Because Sardine-packed arena. Mosh pit. Hashish cigarettes. Booze. Sweaty, smelly bodysurfers. Punks, metalheads, ahbengs. Pop Shuvit. Ben Kenney's bass solo. Brandon speaking in Malay. Brandon trying his hand at guitar. Mikey on piano. Impromptu jams. Percussion solo. Chicks. Zul, Amir and his 2 cousins. Crowd singing to Wish You Were Here. Incessant chants of "Encore!". Incubus. I don't think I'll ever appreciate Incubus the same way again. Watching 'em live was simply unbelievable. Warning, Certain Shade Of Green, Wish You Were Here, Vitamin.. these were some of my favorite tracks performed right before my eyes at the Bukit Kiara indoor stadium in KL. Atmosphere was nothing short of breathtaking, music truly blew me away, people really know how to watch a rock concert there. And I really must thank a couple of nice local lads I met en route to the location. Being there wouldn't even be remotely possible if it weren't for them. It's apparent Incubus has evolved from a hard-rocking outfit I headbang to into an inspirational band I just indulge in spiritually. I'm trying hard not to sound freaky here Incubus is not a cult, by any means. They represent an amazing band I hold in such high reverence I wasn't prepared to miss their concert for the world. Even if it meant going there to watch 'em alone(well thanks to a particular shitpissfuckturdcocksuckingmotherfuckerabsoluteretard). But never mind about that now. I had fun in KL. Wholly enjoyed the 3-hour set they put up. I love Incubus. rayve said @ 1:57 AM |
