Tuesday, August 05, 2003 time/location>> 5.13am/ home listening to>> FFVII - Aeris Theme Rayve as The Video Game Junkie.. Another insipid night of aimless web-browsing and pointless chit-chat. I just happened to stumble upon this really ordinary girly blog which sorta halted me in my cyber-tracks for a moment. Fascinating. But no, it wasn't the fancy site design or visually stimulating images that caught my eye, nor was it the catchy blog content that got me entranced. Obscurely rendering in its full glory, was the midi version of Aeris' brilliant theme song in Final Fantasy VII. Strange, but that was what got me searching frantically all over the Internet for the full mp3 version of it. I thought I had completely forgotten about one of my favorite video gaming tracks of all time. Aeris' theme. It warped my sleepy mind back to the world of fantasy role-play gaming. Final Fantasy 7 was really the most emotive game I ever played. It was the one and only magical video game that managed to penetrate my usual stubborn barrier of mental lethargy, to allow a connection between my in-game character and my actual psychological self. I could still recall the very method I gingerly inserted the godly disc into my Sony Playstation set. ALRIGHT I'll spare you guys the needless details for now. I just hafta say I was so immersed playing the game with a Dual-Shock controller in my hold, lookin' like a stereotypical video game junkie, complete with my geeky glasses then. It was crazy, I was almost killing monsters and demons and solving those quests as if I was the main character Cloud. Courageous and perpetually inquisitive, with a smashing sense of humor. And Aeris was the only person I was genuinely fond of. The game went on`I couldn't help but realise that I was actually concerned about Aeris' progress on the other side of the imaginary world. I even got so upset over her eventual death towards the end! Oh!! It was all so intriguing. I can now proudly claim to be a full-fledged role-playing game freak (with only one complete role-playing game under my belt, whahha!) in the past, well for a period of time at least. Alright. Now have you guys played Final Fantasy 7 already? crappy, but this was the alleged truth to Aeris' death in the game. rayve said @ 5:49 AM |
