time/location: 3.16pm/ home listening to: Headstrong - Backlash Baybeats was awesome. It was so unexpectedly good that you could say it was Singapore's very own, much smaller version of Ozzfest or Woodstock. 3 days of incredible rock and roll goodness. The bands were awesome, Astreal rocked the Arena and Japanese band Buddhiston, they really got me headbanging to the sound of their unique style of music. And the crowd, they were just amazing, never have I seen such a huge crowd attending a local rock concert in this country. I couldn't help but feel really encouraged by evidence that the local band scene is actually beginning to pick up. This year's Baybeats event definitely provides local musicians like us with hope that one day people will actually start supporting and listening to homegrown material. rayve said @ 3:48 PM |
